Ball State University
The Jo Ann Gora Student Rec & Wellness Center
The Student Recreation and Wellness Facility is the first 100% dedicated activity building intended for the student population. This $34.0 mil addition and renovation to the Student Rec complex involved new construction totaling approximately 165,000 square feet and features:
- Fitness center
- Five-court gymnasium
- Indoor turf field
- Multi-purpose rooms
- Suspended running track
- Indoor Climbing Wall and outdoor pursuits rental center
- Student lounges, food franchise and vending/concessions.
The facility’s design revolves around aesthetic appeal, open planning and low maintenance. Dynamic interior spaces are provided with wall to ceiling windows with large areas of visibility to the exterior environment. Besides natural lighting, views both in and out of the building encourage more student interaction with the facility.
“This building certainly enhances our vibrant campus and is one of the crown jewels of Ball State’s wellness efforts.”
