Red Panda Ridge – Ft Wayne Children’s Zoo
Fort Wayne, IN
MSKTD is proud to have helped bring this new exhibit to the re-imagined Asian Trek area of the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo. Red Panda Ridge is home to Chinese and Himalayan red pandas, a Chinese muntjac deer, Asian birds, and red-billed blue magpies.
The project features an expanded entry plaza, the new 1035-sf Red Panda exhibit, a 660-sf mixed species exhibit for Red Panda and Muntjac, a red panda off-exhibit/birthing barn, 527-sf aviary-themed viewing galleries, and an accessible bamboo forest play area.
MSKTD landscape architect Laura Kukelhan’s themed planting design includes a bamboo barrier to prevent spread of the bamboo outside of the intended planting.
The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo welcomes more than 600,000 visitors annually and is now home to one of the largest red panda zoo habitats in the United States. Having completed over fifty projects for the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, MSKTD congratulates the zoo on this recent addition!
