Ambient Experience MRI Suite

This project created a new space for a state of the art Philips Open-View MRI. This MRI unit came with Philips new Ambient Experience^®, which creates an environment filled with a soothing theme-based sound and light show which helps relax the patient and minimizes the often claustrophobic MRI experience. MSKTD worked closely with Philips and Marion General staff to create a more positive experience for patients. A custom metal panel ceiling and walls with radiused corners and all white surfaces help to reflect the themes. A Kitten Scanner^® is used to educate children and relieve anxiety about the MRI exam. The project was a part of a larger renovation of the entire Radiology department.
