Erin’s House for Grieving Children New Facility
Fort Wayne, Indiana
A new home for Erin’s House—a mourning shelter for children and families who have lost a loved one—opened fall of 2013 in northeastern Fort Wayne.
This new 13,545 sf building nearly doubled the organization’s space. As they provide services for a wide age range of people, the spaces in this facility needed to be flexible, with
- A large common room for large or small group activities,
- Age appropriate activity rooms,
- A quiet room,
- Recreation room,
- Open kitchen,
- Offices and training/conference room, and
- Deep porches and outdoor play area.
This new location provides a much more visible, accessible facility where Erin’s House can continue to build and nurture families as they have done for the past twenty years.
